Presentation abstract: Traditionally JD Edwards EnterpriseOne security has been shipped wide open, and has to be closed to secure the system. Since 9.0 JDE have been introducing web object types, called User Defined Objects (UDOs), but there has been no way of securing these new objects.

JDE released the capability to secure UDOs with Release 9.2, which introduced a complete change in security philosophy, as UDOs are initially secured and Users have to be granted access.

Speaker biography: Owen Pay started his IT career working on the ISeries with IBM. He joined JD Edwards in 1998, initially working on World, then quickly moving onto OneWorld (E1). Since 2005 he has worked for Q Software as a JD Edwards security consultant. Throughout his career Owen has regularly presented at User Group meetings, conferences, customer presentations, webinars and other events.
