5 Reasons to Attend The UK Oracle User Group Conference, JDE17

By Hugh McLaughlan, Conference Lead, JDE17

The UK Oracle User Group conference, JDE17, is the largest independent gathering of Oracle JD Edwards professionals in the UK. Looking for a reason to attend? Here are five reasons why you should book your place right now:

JDE17 is an invaluable opportunity to learn what other Oracle professionals are doing with JD Edwards, the challenges they’re facing and the solutions that they’re working on.

Every year, we welcome JD Edwards users from all over the UK, plus Europe and the USA, to network, share experiences and pick up useful tips and techniques. It’s a positive and friendly forum to talk Oracle JD Edwards, helped this year by our 80s themed social on Tuesday evening.

Each day features a great mix of presentations and roundtable events across four streams: Business Function, Business Process, Future Plans, and Customer Stories. In each stream you’ll discuss practical ways to help you extract the maximum value from your JD Edwards investment.

Our keynote address is from Lyle Ekdahl, senior vice president and general manager, JD Edwards. He’ll talk about  ‘JD Edwards Investments that will Transform Your Business’ and focus on innovation, customer experience and operational efficiency challenges, including:

• Hybrid cloud for operational and business process modernisation
• Mobility - moving JD Edwards beyond the back office to the point of business process
• IoT to drive real-time insight, enabling faster response to market opportunities

Lyle is also taking part in our JDE17 Roadmap and JDE17 Ideathon sessions and you’ll have lots of opportunities to meet and speak to him about the direction that JD Edwards is taking.

JD Edwards professionals understand the challenge of keeping up with current and future trends. Some have concerns around cloud adoption, so we’re running a dedicated session based on actual customer experiences about how they increased their cost savings and efficiencies.

We have a number of great opportunities to learn by hearing what others have done with JD Edwards. For example, we’re looking forward to interactive sessions on mobile working; JDE tools; GDPR and what we need to be doing to become compliant; as well as hands-on interactive user experience sessions and more.

Oracle is an enormous organisation and JDE17 is your unique chance to meet Oracle JD Edwards management, to discuss the challenges you’re facing alongside other users, to make your voice heard and influence the future of the product.

It really is a dialogue, formed through keynote sessions, Q&A panels, roundtables and hands-on sessions, where individual users become a single customer with a big voice.

One of our most popular sessions is the Ideathon, where users give presentations about the new functionality they’d like to see to Lyle Ekdahl and Manish Somani, senior director, product development. The winner could potentially have their idea incorporated into the product in a year’s time.  Submit your ideas ahead of JDE17 here.

As a user group, we understand more than anyone how important the future of JD Edwards is to business users. With support confirmed by Oracle until 2028, understanding it is crucial to strategic planning processes. This year, we are running the following sessions to help you perfect your business plans and explore what's to come in the next decade.

•  Augmented intelligence
•  Cloud
•  SaaS & PaaS
•  Upgrading your JDE tools

Remember, our conference isn’t a marketing event. It’s the only place you can learn first hand about the future for JD Edwards and how it will impact your business.

We look forward to meeting you.
